In 1992 pioneers worked tirelessly towards establishing the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Social and Welfare Association. From the organization’s early incarnation to the 2004 amendment of its rule book, one simple belief continues to be at its core – that police officers need protection too. TTPSSWA has since been the voice agitating for the promotion, advancement of professional development and collective bargaining for police officers
The idea has sustained the TTPSSWA’s operations for years. The once fledgling organization has evolved from an executive consisting of just 3 members representing only second division officers to a force acting on behalf of over 6000 police officers
The TTPSSWA advances the interests of all registered members while also tailoring initiatives for their growth and support. Members can access: Legal aid, Medical aid, Loans, Housing accommodations, Educational grants, Secondary Entrance Assessment grants for member’s children, Retirement benefits, Death Benefits and EPA
TTPSSWA guards the rights and interests of police officers vigorously in light of the vital and critical role they play in protecting citizens and maintaining peace and security in Trinidad and Tobago. With decades of support and assistance to Trinidad and Tobago police officers, the TTPSSWA has cemented its position as the leading body to take the voice of law enforcement personnel to the national level.
